Dear LWVNC Members,
Happy New Year to one and all! After a restful holiday season, highlighted by our own Divas serenading us at our annual holiday luncheon hosted by Penny Young, the Board is back at work!
On the heels of our program informing us about the state of residential real estate in New Canaan, we're following up with a look at real estate downtown. Our next program, to be held on Wednesday, January 21st at 1:00 PM in the Lamb Room at the New Canaan Library, will feature Lazlo Papp, Chairman of the town's Planning and Zoning Commission, who will lead a discussion entitled "Re-Inventing Downtown New Canaan.” Mark your calendars to attend what is sure to be an interesting and lively discussion!
In other news, Board members Anne Ward and Susan Smith are already hard at work preparing the 2009 "Know Your Reps" brochure, which will be mailed to the entire town later this winter. The Nominating Committee has also started its search to put together next year's Board.
